TouriSMEComp _Self-Responsible Learning of Key Competences in Tourism SME- a Mean to improve Competitiveness and Employment - 2014-1-RO01-KA202-002766
The objective of the project is to improve the level of key competencies of employees in TSME as the foundation of the acquisition of professional skills and there by improve their employability as well as the competitivity of TSME.
This will be done by: building support for TSME through training of 50 TSME owners and managers in acting as learning facilitators/coachers for at least 500 of their employees and by developing appropriate intellectual outputs to support this learning and to disseminate the concept. The TSME managers will be asissted by 20 consultants, trained in self-learning methodologies.
The impact and long term benefits of the project will be:
500 employees will improve and document their key competencies for lifelong learning as a prerequisite for a continuing improvement of their professional skills. This will increase the demand for facilitation of workplace learning from additional employees.
The practice will spread from the core group to other TSME managers and additional consultants in similar organisations, through the outputs realised (Guideline for TSME mangers on facilitating workplace learning of key competences in their companies, Modular learning material for TSME (potential) employees, which supports using situations in the work process for the acquisition of key competences for Life Long Learning, a curriculum for a course to disseminate and spread the concept).
The Activities of the project:
Elaboration of the following intellectual outputs:
O1: Requirement Analysis Report- A synthesis report with the state of the tourism per country and the necessary recommendations about: learning methods to improve the basic skills of managers and of workers based on self-responsible approaches
O2: Training Handbook for Consultants: Facilitating Self Learning of Key Competences in Tourism SME - Package of methodological guidelines and a Set of Modules for consultants/coaches/mentors/ trainers that work with Tourism SME managers
O3: Training Handbook for Tourism SME Managers: Coach your Staff – Building your Employees Key Competencies by Stimulating Self-Learning - Concise guideline with rationale for coaching employees including tools and example cases
O4: Training Material for employees to build key competences using workplace learning in Tourism SME - Collection of 80 pages instruction modules (10 for each key competency)
O5: Curriculum for a Blended Learning Course “Self-Learning in Tourism SME” for Coaches and Trainers- a curriculum for a blended learning course which introduces to the concept of facilitating self- learning in Tourism SME
-C1: training course for consultants in order to become facilitators for self-learning key competences at workplace - 5 days session
-C2: training course for 10 tourism managers per country in order to become internal facilitator for self-learning key competences at workplace – 6 days session
-E1: TouriSMEComp- feedback for consultants- with the participation of 60 person involved in Tourism sector: managers, owners, consultants, teachers, academics, mass-media etc. that will give feedback regarding the benefits of the self-learning workplace
-E2: TouriSME Comp- manager’s choices- 60 estimated direct participants (local authorities, business associations, mass-media, unions, managers, teachers, academics etc.) will give feedback regarding the benefits of using the coaching skills in developing the workers competences.
-E3: TouriSME Comp- qualitative competences for workers- 45 participants -The objective of the multiplying event is to receive feedback from participants (persons from target groups, stakeholders and other) regarding the benefits of using the self-learning methods in developing the workers competences and the benefits of this training method versus classical training.
-E4: TouriSME Comp- Mean to improve competitiveness and employability- 60 participants. The aim of the event is to promote the curriculum for blended learning course. The event will emphasize the benefits of such training course.
-E5: TouriSME Comp - Final Conference- to promote the final results of the project
Outreach activity in SME - Workers self- responsible learning- 500 employees from tourism sector are assisted to improve the key competences through self-learning at workplace by the 50 managers participated on the training, closely assisted by the consultants that will act as facilitators of the learning.
Project Management: coordination of the project implementation in order to reach the proposed objectives.
Dissemination: the aim is to promote the project activities and to disseminate the information about the handbooks elaborated and the methods used to develop the key competences of the tourism workers by encouraging self-responsible learning at workplace.
Transnational meetings of the partners in order to clarify different aspects of the implementation of the project.
